Is Your Bryant Furnace Not Working?
If your Bryant furnace is not working, there could be several reasons why. When you have a piece of equipment that is meant to last for many years, such as a furnace, then it is likely that you will have to do some repairs on it at some point in time. If you learn that your Bryant furnace is not working, then it’s time to do a little troubleshooting to figure out why.
The first thing you can do is to check the breaker box that is located right beside the unit. Unlike all the rest of the breakers in the house, the breaker that is associated with the furnace has it’s own box.
Once you locate the breaker box, check to make sure that all the breakers are in the “on” position. If one is not, then you can simply turn it on and your problem should be fixed.
However, if you keep having this problem over and over again, you should call a technician to find out why the breaker keeps turning off, as this could indicate a more serious problem.
You can also check to make sure that your air filter is clean. Often, the cause of a Bryant furnace not working is a clogged air filter. When the filter is dirty, the air will not be able to flow properly out of the unit. It is recommended that you change your air filter at least every 3 to 6 months. Check your Bryant furnace manual to find out the recommended time to change your particular furnace.
Another thing that you can do if your furnace is not working is to check the outdoor unit to make sure that it is not being blocked by hedges or grass. In some cases, grass or weeds can grow up and into the unit, making it work improperly. If this is the case at your home, turn off your air unit and clean up the area around it. Then turn your unit back on and see if that fixed the problem.
In any case, you may or may not be able to repair the furnace yourself. If you are having serious repeated problems with your furnace, then it’s probably time to call a technician.
