Is Your Carrier Furnace Blower Not Working?

When you are having problems with your Carrier furnace, you may be wondering if it is something that you can fix yourself or if you will have to call a repair technician.

If your Carrier furnace blower is not working, it could be due to quite a few different problems. Some of the are easy to fix, while others require a bit of expertise.

The first thing you should do if you notice that your Carrier furnace blower is not working is to check to make sure that the furnace switch is in the “on” position. You can do this by looking directly on the furnace for the power switch.

There could be several reasons why the furnace may have turned off, but before you can determine what those may be, you will need to turn your furnace back on and see what happens.

If your furnace works properly once you turn it back on, then it is likely that it was just a fluke that it got turned off. However, if you continue to have problems with the furnace turning itself off, then there is likely a larger problem at hand. At this point you can either check the diagnostic LED light on the front of the furnace or you can go ahead and call a repair technician to check out the problem.

Another thing that you can do is to check your furnace air filter to make sure that it is clean. Most furnaces require that you change out the air filter at least once every 3 to 6 months.

If it has been quite a while since your air filter has been changed, then it’s probably time to go ahead and change it. If you take out your air filter and it is clogged and dirty, this could very well be the problem with your furnace.

No matter what the problem is that is causing your Carrier furnace blower to not work properly, there is likely an easy fix. If you are not the type of person who likes to tinker with mechanics yourself, then calling a repair person is probably your best bet in this case. Be sure that when you do, you call a licensed Carrier furnace technician.
