I just had a new Gibson furnace put in this past December. When it flooded this spring, water in my tiny basement went up 18 inches. Since my furnace was up on a platform, it got flooded a good 12 inches. But since all the electronics were on the top and only the blower is on the bottom, as soon as I got the water sump pumped out it started right up. Any other furnace that had the components on the bottom would have been a mess. I got the drain unclogged so this shouldn't happen again any time soon, but if it does, I know that my furnace will keep working.
