Lennox Furnace Filter Replacement Instructions

One of the most important maintenance procedures that you will ever do on your Lennox furnace is filter replacement.

Furnace filters should be replaced at a minimum of every 3 to 6 months to ensure that your furnace will continue to work properly.

You should check the manual of your particular model of Lennox furnace to find out how often your air filter should be replaced.

Take note of the size of the air filter in your furnace. You will need this information when you go shopping for new ones.

You can purchase new furnace air filters at just about any large department store or any store that sales furnace supplies. Furnace filters typically come in packages of at least 3 filters. First, you should look for filters that are the right size.

Once you have located the proper size filter, you can begin looking at the other specifications. Some packages state that the filters are guaranteed to last at least 3 months.

You may very well want to take advantage of one of these. Look for filters that are medium to high quality and that are made by a brand that you trust.

When you get home with your new air filters, you will find that replacing your old one will be quite simple. Open the furnace door and locate the dirty air filter. Remove the old one and replace it with the new one.

Take note of which way the dirty filter was facing so that you will install the new one correctly. Once you are done, you can close the furnace and allow it to work properly.

If you don’t like the hassle of buying new air filters every 3 to 6 months, you can purchase washable filters for your Lennox furnace.

These filters can be taken out and washed and used over and over again. You may choose to buy two of these, so that one can be in use while you are washing the other one.

No matter which type of filter you choose, make sure that you keep track of how often it is being changed. It is a good idea to use a sticky note to create a memo stating the last date that the filter was changed. This way, you will always know when it is time for a new one.
