Lennox Furnace Troubleshooting
If you are having some difficulties with your Lennox furnace, then you may be in need of a little Lennox furnace troubleshooting. In some cases, when your furnace is on the fritz, there is a simple fix.
In other cases, it is best to call a repair person, but before you do,check out these simple troubleshooting tips to find out if you can make the repair on your own.
1. Check your air filter. If it has been more than 6 months since you last changed your air filter, then it’s probably time for a new one. Dirty and clogged air filters can cause your furnace to work improperly.
To avoid this in the future, place a sticky note near the furnace with the date that you last changed your filter. This way you will know exactly when to change it.
2. If your Lennox furnace isn’t heating properly, then the gas burners may need to be cleaned. If this is the case, you can turn off the gas valve and take out the burners. Clean them off and replace them into the furnace. You may be pleasantly surprised at how well your furnace works after a good cleaning.
3. If your pilot light keeps going out, then it’s probably time to clean the gas tube. This can easily be done by turning off the gas and cleaning the tube with a damp cloth.
Once all the residue is removed, then you can dry the tube and place it back into the furnace. If you clean the tube and you are still having the same problem, you may need to replace the thermocouple. This can easily be done by a repair person.
If you are having trouble finding any of the parts that you need for your Lennox furnace troubleshooting, then simply consult the manual. If you do not have the manual that came with your furnace, it is likely that you can find a copy of it online.
Keep in mind, though, that if your problem is more complex than a cleaning issue, it might be best to call a repair person who can get the job done quickly and easily.
