Am replacing original equipment (about 23 years old) and considering both York and Bryant HVAC units.

Both contractors have good track records with local BBB; both are licensed, bonded, etc. The York/Latitude contractor has done yearly checkups on our existing HVAC for several years, so I know him. The Bryant contractor was a personal referral.

York comes in at $4000 for complete installation. Bryant, for comparable equipment, is quoting almost $6,900, so there is a great difference in cost.

Having never replaced the physical plant in any home I have owned, I am looking for 3rd party information as to which way to go. What have I not considered between the two? Will I be sorry if I go with less expensive bid, even tho I am comfortable dealing with that contractor?

Any suggestions, ideas, thoughts would be appreciated.
